The 29th Asian Youth Championship has concluded in Tashkent!
From June 26 to July 2, 2025, nearly 400 young athletes from 21 Asian associations competed at the Humo Arena.
The official awarding ceremony was attended by Khalil Al-Mohannadi, President of the Asian Table Tennis Union; Abdulla Almulla, Member of the ATTU Council; Nabil Al-Fakih, Secretary General of the ATTU; Otabek Umarov, Vice President for the Central Asian Region of the Olympic Council of Asia and Deputy Chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan; Oybek Qosimov, Secretary General of the NOC of Uzbekistan; Hasan bin Hamza Hashim, Ambassador of Qatar to Uzbekistan; Sherzod Kudbiyev, President of the Table Tennis Federation of Uzbekistan, and other high-ranking guests.
14-year-old Divyanshi Bhowmick from India earned her country its first gold medal in the U15 girls’ singles event after a 36-year wait.
In the U19 boys’ singles, China’s Wen Ruibo emerged as champion.
The mixed doubles title was claimed by Korea’s Kim Gaon and Park Gahyeon.
Japan’s national team players triumphed in the U19 girls’ doubles and singles events, while China dominated all team categories, securing gold medals across the board.
Another important tradition was upheld within the framework of the 29th Asian Youth Table Tennis Championships — the official handover of the Asian Table Tennis Union (ATTU) flag and the hosting rights for the next edition of the championships in 2026 to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).
This championship opened new international horizons for young talents and once again showcased Uzbekistan’s great potential in sports.
